Vanessa Peña-Hallinan

Vanessa Peña-Hallinan is an Associate with Winterfeldt IP Group.  She has experience in a broad variety of trademark and copyright matters including trademark portfolio management, trademark clearance, prosecuting domestic and international trademark applications, registration maintenance and trademark enforcement. She has supported the negotiation of intricate IP agreements contemplating consent & coexistence.  Vanessa has expertise in collaborating with internal business partners, creatively strategizing with clients to overcome distinct filing obstacles, and assessing risk profiles specific to trademark use and registration.  She has vast experience with complex evidence collection projects requiring the procurement of non-traditional materials and metrics, ultimately leading to successful acceptance. Vanessa also works on domain name dispute resolution matters such as UDRP proceedings, takedown requests and related research & investigation.  

Vanessa has extensive knowledge and experience in the intellectual property field, covering over 20 years, working with global brands possessing worldwide recognition. She enjoys working alongside clients to solve distinct and intricate IP related issues from social media concerns to website content violations. Prior to joining Winterfeldt IP Group, Vanessa was a member of the Salesforce in-house team as Trademark Counsel.  She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association, and is a champion of DEI through her volunteerism and through industry activities on behalf of Winterfeldt IP Group.

Vanessa is a UC Berkeley alum who earned her JD from the University of San Francisco with a certificate in Intellectual Property and Technology Law.
