Winterfeldt IP Group Welcomes New Team Members

Winterfeldt IP Group is delighted to welcome new attorneys to our team! Please find below a brief introduction to our new team members, and learn more about updated and expanded roles for some of our other long-term team members.

Justin Chay has joined Winterfeldt IP Group as an Associate. Justin, whose practice focuses on trademark portfolio management, trademark prosecution and enforcement, domain name enforcement, and other digital brand protection matters, as well as copyright and agreement matters, most recently served as in-house counsel to a start-up company. Prior to his most recent in-house role, Justin held an associate position in private practice at an intellectual property firm, and has also served as a legal case manager for the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Joseph Theis has also joined Winterfeldt IP Group as an Associate. Joseph, whose legal studies focused specifically on intellectual property, supports the firm's clients on all aspects of trademarks and digital brand protection, including trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, domain name, and agreement matters. Christy Susman, Of Counsel with Winterfeldt IP Group and an original member of the Winterfeldt IP Group team since our opening in October 2017, has assumed an expanded role in connection with many of the firm's clients. Christy has nearly two decades of experience as an intellectual property attorney in both in-house and private practice roles, and provides strategic advice in connection with trademark portfolio matters, enforcement, agreements and other transactional matters, and domain name matters. Candice Spencer, a member of the team that became Winterfeldt IP Group for nearly 15 years, has recently been promoted to Senior IP Paralegal. Candice prepares USPTO filings, coordinates international trademark prosecution and enforcement matters, and provides support on domain name enforcement and other digital brand protection matters. Emily Murray, a 20-year veteran of the legal industry who has spent the majority of her career with the team that became Winterfeldt IP Group, has recently been promoted to Chief Strategy Officer. In this updated role, Emily will continue to oversee marketing, business development, and communications matters for the firm, with expanded contributions to overall business strategy and oversight of client workflow.
