Winterfeldt IP Group is honored to announce that we have joined the InterLaw Diversity Forum as a Supporter. Our membership represents our firm’s most recent partnership in the diversity and inclusion (D&I) realm, and reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding the breadth and reach of our global D&I activities.

Originally founded in 2008 as an organization focused on D&I in the LGBTQ+ area in the legal industry, the InterLaw Diversity Forum has since expanded its programs to include diversity support for many additional areas, including race and ethnicity, disability, gender, and social mobility. The InterLaw Diversity Forum is committed to working to promote meaningful change in the workplace, and provides particular support for those who may identify as belonging to multiple diversity categories (intersectionality). Membership is available to all members of the legal profession, whether as attorneys or non-attorney professionals, and whether in private practice or in-house.

The InterLaw Diversity Forum offers a broad spectrum of activities, including meetings for affinity groups (networks) within individual areas of diversity; leadership and mentoring activities; research and publications on D&I in the legal industry; advisory consultations with business and governmental organisations; fundraising for charitable causes; and educational programming covering many aspects of diversity in the legal industry. Recent and upcoming programming includes a focus on impacts of the COVID-19 global pandemic on D&I initiatives, and we will be distributing shortly information on some of the InterLaw Diversity Forum’s complimentary webinars on this topic.

Due to COVID-19, we are all facing a much different 2020 than any of us had envisioned just a few months ago. Physical distancing requirements and travel restrictions, combined with difficult economic conditions, represent particular challenges for diverse personnel who may rely on industry conferences and in-person networking events to make professional connections, grow their profiles, and pursue new opportunities. While we cannot fully replace the warmth and camaraderie of face-to-face activities, organizations such as the InterLaw Diversity Forum that offer a robust slate of virtual networking opportunities offer critical services for diverse members of the legal industry. Through these trying times, Winterfeldt IP Group remains dedicated to growing our efforts in the D&I realm, and we look forward to keeping you updated on the InterLaw Diversity Forum’s programming and networking events.
