Brian Winterfeldt Named to the OUTstanding 100 LGBT+ Executives List

The Financial Times has published its list of OUTstanding LGBT+ Role Models for 2018! Winterfeldt IP Group is very excited to announce that our Founder and Principal, Brian Winterfeldt, has been selected as one of the OUTstanding 100 LGBT+ Executives, presented by the FT. The list is designed to highlight executives who are not only LGBT+, but who devote significant resources to diversity, inclusion, and LGBT+ advocacy in the workplace. Brian’s selection reflects his, and Winterfeldt IP Group’s, extensive work on LGBT matters, including pro bono service for LGBT advocacy organizations, service on the Board of Directors for The Trevor Project, leadership of GLINTA (LGBT affinity group for members of the trademark community), organization of various LGBT-focused charitable events, and more.

“I am so incredibly honored to be selected for this wonderful award,” Brian stated. “One of my primary goals in founding Winterfeldt IP Group was to ensure greater support for diversity and inclusion, particularly for LGBT+ professionals, in the legal industry. LGBT+representation in the legal industry remains very low, especially at the senior attorney ranks. Opening my own firm ensured I could devote the time and attention needed to this very worthwhile endeavor, with activities that most resonated with our team members and clients. Winterfeldt IP Group has just celebrated its one-year anniversary, and I am so happy to see that our work is having an impact in the diversity space already – and I am looking forward to doing even more as our firm continues to grow.”

Suki Sandhu, Founder and CEO of INvolve (an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in business, including administration of the OUTstanding awards), offered the following information on OUTstanding:

“Our sixth OUTstanding list is our most international and diverse ever. It features executives representing 21 countries around the world– from Ghana to Germany and from India to Israel. We’re so proud to see so many senior and future leaders recognized as role models for their work driving cultural change and creating environments where everyone can succeed. Everyone– regardless of gender, sexuality or ethnicity - benefits from a level playing field where people feel able to bring their whole selves to work.”

Winterfeldt IP Group is a specialty intellectual property law firm with headquarters in Washington, DC and additional personnel in the New York and San Francisco areas.
