Winterfeldt IP Group Celebrates Its One-Year Anniversary

On October 16, 2017, we launched Winterfeldt IP Group as a specialty intellectual property law firm focused on providing top-notch, concierge-style client service. We are thrilled to announce that Winterfeldt IP Group has just celebrated its one-year anniversary. We are so grateful to all of our wonderful clients, industry colleagues, and team members who have made our firm a success!

Over the past year, Winterfeldt IP Group has expanded its presence from our Washington, DC headquarters to include additional personnel in the New York and San Francisco areas, as well as continuing to grow our ranks of attorneys and support staff in our DC office. We are serving clients in a diverse array of industries, including apparel, financial services, technology, communications, pharma, and many others. We have grown our expertise in cutting-edge areas such as GDPR and privacy matters, online phishing and counterfeiting schemes, and more, while continuing to build our traditional trademark and Internet brand protection practices.

Our team members have spoken at numerous industry events and have contributed to dozens of publications (please visit Latest Insights to review our client advisories and other articles). We have continued to grow our presence in industry leadership activities, with our Principal, Brian Winterfeldt, being elected as President of ICANN’s Intellectual Property Constituency and being appointed as a UDRP Panelist for the World Intellectual Property Organization. In addition, we launched GBOC, a coalition of global brand owners, in order to engage in advocacy for intellectual property protections in the brick and mortar and online platforms around the world.

We are especially pleased that we have been able to maintain our commitment to pro bono service and diversity initiatives, a core goal in forming Winterfeldt IP Group. We have provided extensive service to charitable organizations that support LGBT youth, other members of the LGBT community, persons with disabilities, and educational programs. Brian Winterfeldt chaired the Lavender Law IP Law Institute, a seminar for IP practitioners at the annual LGBT-focused Lavender Law conference, for the 5th year in a row. Winterfeldt IP Group also received its certification by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) as an LGBT-owned business.

Again, we extend our warmest thanks to everyone who has supported us during our launch, and we are so excited to continue to grow Winterfeldt IP Group in the coming years!
